Most people have difficulty learning to speak English because they don’t know what to do, they don’t trust normal ‘English Courses’, and they don’t believe it’s possible.
So… First and foremost… I want to tell you:
IT IS POSSIBLE.
You really CAN learn to speak fluent English – if you want. You just need:
- The Right Plan
- A Coach/Mentor/Teacher whom you really trust.
- Believe YOU Can Do It – And you want to do it!
My ‘approach’ to English learning can be described as:
“A fervent belief that you CAN speak English if you follow the right path. Then, take ‘one step at a time’ on the right path and see your English improve.”
So many people try to make this more complicated.
Now, maybe you’re saying,
“OK – What’s the right path? What’s the right method to learn English?”
I’ve written a comprehensive guide on How to Speak English.
But maybe you ask yourself: “Will this really work for me? Can I learn English? Is it possible?”
If you think like this, you will probably never learn to speak English fluently… Because people who think like this will never start. ‘What’s the point?’ they think. ‘There’s a risk for failure. What if I can’t do it?’
‘CAN’ and ‘CAN’T’ are temporary situations.
If you ‘CAN’T’ do something, then practice it. Do it every day. If you ‘can’t’ do it yet, find someone who can help you learn to do it.
SOME PARTS WON’T BE ‘EASY’…
Prepare yourself for the hard parts. Plan to solve problems. Be ready to get through the hard parts.
The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.” – Carol Dweck, author of Mindset
The Correct Mindset is the Key to Learning English
The correct mindset for learning English is a growth mindset.
A growth mindset believes that ‘ability’ or ‘talent’ is not fixed.
In other words, our ability can change – if we change our behaviors.
If we work hard – and keep going – we can develop and grow our abilities.
I believe this is true. Every human wants to expand:
- Do more
- Be more
Expanding ourselves means expanding our ability to do more, see more, be more, and feel more.
Learning to speak English (and learning to speak any other language) is an amazing experience that will transform you.
When you can finally speak English fluently, you will feel more confident, you’ll make more connections, you’ll learn more, know more, understand more… And you’ll be able to travel more, see more, and do more of the things you’ve always wanted to.
